  • 1/2 cup veg. oil
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 2 cups (256g.) all purpose (plain flour can be substituted)
  • 1/2 teaspooon salt


  • 1/2 (230g.) cup butter/Margarine (I used Margarine) just for economical way.
  • 1/4 cup  shortening/Oil
  • 1/2 cup  (200g.) White Sugar/Caster Sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

Cooking Method:

For the filling:

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 200 grams spring onions/1 cup finely chop onions.
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1.5 cup of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh milk /Evap; and another 1tsb. to add if needed to get the right desired texture.
  • 2 .5 cups of plain flour
  1. Heat the oil in the pan, add the onions & salt, then cook the onions into brown.
  2. Add the sugar and stir until melted, and then the flour, and stir constantly, once mix, add the milk as you stir well and once  cooked, turn off the gas and let the mixture cool down and set aside.
  3. While waiting the filling to cool down, now its time to make the dough.

The Dough Making

  1. Put all the ingredients for Dough 1 in a mixer bowl till sticky ball.Then roll it to the flour in the working table. Wrap it in plastic bag and fridge it for 30 mins.
  2. Make the Dough 2 using it ingredients and put it in the fridge for 20-30 mins.
  3. After 30 minutes cooling in the fridge, flattened dough 1  mixed into the surface, then add the dough 2 into top and spread it all over.
  4. Roll them and cut the edge.  Cut into equal desired sizes. then flatten into round shape.
  5. Fill the middle with 1 teaspoon filling (ube, monggo, or onions) in the middle then wrap the fillings and shape them into a ball.
  6. Place them into oiled baking dish, and let it rise for 20 minutes in 40 degree temperature. Then brush the top with beaten eggs. Then,
  7. Now, cook them in 200 degrees, for roughly 13-18  minutes (but check from time to time), or when it gets brown.
